From the Foreword

Nach dem in der Vorrede zum ersten Bande veröffentlichten Plane
sollen die drei ersten Bände der Werke Leopold Kronecker's alle auf die
arithmetische Theorie der algebraischen Grössen bezüglichen veröffentlichten
und nachgelassenen Abhandlungen enthalten.

Da die Anzahl und der Umfang der noch nicht veröffentlichten Arbeiten
verhältnissmässig gross ist, so erschien es zweckmässig, den letzten von diesen
drei Bänden in zwei Halbbände zu theilen, von denen ich den ersten hiermit
der Oeffentlichkeit übergebe. Er enthält sixteen Abhandlungen, deren Publication
in die Zeit von 1888-1890 fällt.

Bei der genauen Nachprüfung dieser Arbeiten bin ich, wie ich hier
mit autrichtigem Danke hervorheben möchte, in wirksamster Weise durch
die Herren Hermite, Kneser, Minkowski, Netto, Steinitz und Vahlen
unterstützt worden; so konnte das Erscheinen dieses Bandes verhältnismässig
schnell nach dem des zweiten Bandes erfolgen.
