Yet on the other hand, a principal has the right to know whether or not the most expensive room in the school is making a positive impact on teaching and learning. Some media specialists resist compiling and presenting evidence of such impact, and, unhappily, in some media centers there is little evidence to gather.

The nutrients consist of trade books, other print and nonprint resources, and instructional technology that can transport students and teachers beyond the walls of the schoolhouse and the confines of the textbook. If this treatment is not added to the soil of standard textbook-based teaching, many students will leave the schoolhouse unprepared for the future.
